@alxd@writing.exchange it took me awhile to get back to this point because I wanted to do some reading. I want to validate how hard of a problem you, and a lot of Europeans, face. Your land was the first assimilated, and colonized over and over (especially yours). Decolonizing and reindigenizing Europe will be the historic feat of our species. So I want to ask in all earnestness: have you asked the people who have lived in your mountains for six centuries? Have you looked outside your nation's borders?

@foundseed@spore.social you mean górale, the most patriarchal cultural group in Poland who refused to accept the anti-domestic violence law saying it destroys their culture? I did study some of their history, how they opposed a lot of oppressive states, but I don't think they share as much of the liberatory spirit as the Ukrainian Cossacks did. I'm afraid that there is just no indigenous group in our region who can teach us sustainability, especially given that we lack a word for it.
