As the approach the moon, they can see the far side; the angle of visibility (cross section of face) will be from an angle not accessible to a viewer on earth. Hence her ability to comment on seeing the far side.

@kschroder@mastodon.world Yes, I know what the dark side is. That's why my post. If they are "between the earth and the moon, they are in the same line of sight as someone on earth. The only time they would have a different wider angle giving them line of sight would be if they are outside a line extending from the widest part of earth to the widest part of the moon, which would be over halfway there, which is why I included the note about that not having happened yet.
