@rye what is the exact symptom? Do the pad fail to retract or do the pad fail to brake? It can be the piston not moving freely or the cable not retracting freely. If the arm move and retract correctly when you release the brake lever, cable should be ok. If not disconnect the cable and see if it moves freely in the housing. If not you might want to lube things out as a quickfix but final solution might be to change housing and cables. If the cable slides freely in the housing, remove the wheel, remove the pads, see if you can push back the piston with an allen key or a tire lever. I am not sure which caliper model it is, so it is possible that you have only one piston moving on this model, that would be the one on the side of the cable entry. If it doesn't move freely try applying some lube that comes as a spray to see if it helps. You might have some corrosion too so if it doesn't work some anti corrosion spray left overnight could also help. That is all I can say from a distance.
