@joat@mastodon.scot So basically you checked whether you NAS successfully shots down when it's running on UPS for too long / the battery is running low?

@joat@mastodon.scot I should slowly start figuring out how to shutdown my RaspberryPis and the Proxmox PVE using NUT. I've been monitoring the state of my two UPSs with NUT and Telegraf for quite a while now. My Qnap NAS shuts down when it's running on battery for more than 10 minutes but I never got around doing that for the other machines.

@ostueker@mast.hpc.social pretty much. And it revealed a problem... I think the BIOS power setting is "restore last state" and because it cleanly shut itself down before the UPS powered off, when I manually turned the UPS on again the NAS didn't boot. So if this happened when I was away then it would stay down until I got home.
