@AskPippa@c.im aw hell. theres no simple work around for that.
the only way to avoid this would have been in advance turning on a 2fa method using one of the code-generating apps (they all use the same math so you can pic an app and use it for everything). or YUBIkey nfc keys work too.
there's also 'backup codes' you can download and save in a file to make sure you're not locked out.

@rockmastermike@beige.party I'm not sure what some of that means. But here I am. There has been a suggestion of setting up 'wifi calling' which might allow calls/texts. The iPhone has an option for rhis. Just nervous about setting up something that might get me into more trouble because I don't really know what I'm doing. Hmmm.
