@kraftner@mastodon.social @adactio@mastodon.social Put a simpler way: thousands more people eligible to vote were unable to cast their ballot, than those who were ineligible to vote were able to do so. The number of missing valid votes does not in any way counter the number of invalid votes cast, therefore the mandate is undemocratic.

    @maccath@phpc.social @adactio@mastodon.social That makes sense if there really are that many voters who do not have any formal proof of their identity. But that alone sounds unbelievable from an Austrian perspective. With personal ID cards, passports, social insurance cards, driving licenses or certificates of citizenship I think I've never met a person who doesn't have at least one formal way to prove their identity. But I might have a privileged blind spot here.
