@cockneylaurie@mastodonapp.uk I thoroughly agree - it would be very regrettable for all the reasons you set out. NATO is however, a Defence Alliance. Trump's endeavour to force into his illegal offensive attack on Iran is a perversion of its very reason for existence. (Unsuprising perhaps from a pervert). If he succeeds, NATO will be changed, forever, from a organisation dedicated to preservation of peace, to a tool for US presidents to employ at whim to prosecute war. Better to address the inconveniences.
