@pmbrandvold@techtoots.com I'm pretty sure that they used bolts (plus anchors) and wooden dowels. That's the standard in cheaper furniture you get at IKEA and similar cheap furniture providers that needs to be assembled by the customer. For building it myself I'd use proper joints like mortise and tenon and avoid screws if possible (they always come loose at some point) or use them only to secure proper joints.
