@Sevoris@mastodon.social The business world is about as silly as it seems to engineers, but they have norms that allow them to do very well that engineers are allergic to. We paid a guy A$5K for sales coaching and got A$40K within three weeks of that. When people ask me about starting a business, they go "A$5K??? No!", and I'm like "Brother, you just quit a job paying A$200K, this is peanuts"
Once you deprogram yourself, you can do really well because uh, you have an engineer brain and they're weak mortals

@ludicity@mastodon.sprawl.club sounds unironically like "just think of it as Eve Online skill points allocation" (Alternatively, it‘s just like paying for and reading expensive books, except the RoI is better when another human pre-filters things for you)
