@gregeganSF@mathstodon.xyz and it looks as if your technique was extremely similar to mine! So at least we agree with each other on whether it works. :-) I do wonder if there's a fundamental obstacle to doing it this way. Maybe some awkward relationship between the corners of supertiles always gives a K_4 between some particular set of tile classes no matter how hard you try to avoid it. But I have to get back to doing something less frivolous now.
