@kimschulz@social.data.coop I can talk to companions directly even when kilometers away. And yes, if people don’t contribute to the network by setting up repeaters, but rely on only one repeater closely, then this repeater is a SPOF for that area. But if there are multiple repeaters, then the network becomes resilient, and the path finding protocol used for direct messages, repeater admin and room servers helps to prevent congestion.
