@kimschulz@social.data.coop „they (Companions) only speak directly to Repeaters.“ - that’s not entirely correct… companions can talk to each other when in range and you can also configure them to act as repeaters for a more Meshtastic way of working, but on another frequency as the main mesh network.

@blackforestmesh@freiburg.social Interesting. I have not seen this option for acting as repeater. The companion to companion is irrelevant as it beats the purpose of the whole mesh idea. It is like saying you can make free phone calls via bluetooth, as long as you are only 20meters apart
