I still remember when I was in school and we talked about cis-trans isomerism in chemistry class and the girl sitting next to me remarked that she knew those terms because she had some trans friends. I told her that the term "cis" was adapted from chemistry and she looked at me with a suspicious look and asked how I knew about this. She later dismissed it as me just knowing a lot of random shit (which is not inaccurate I guess), but... ehm, yeah, maybe there was a bit more behind that. :blobfoxlaughsweat: #trans #transgender
