Re: #polio vaccine: My mother had two childhood friends that ended up severely disabled after contracting polio. When the vaccine became generally available around the time I was born, my mother could not get to the doctor's office fast enough to have my older siblings vaccinated. Why anyone would propose going back to the bad old days is totally beyond reason and comprehension. It is also unconscionable.
