@TiroTypeworks@typo.social @nika@typo.social @kentlew@typo.social I haven’t seen this behavior, either. I certainly would find it annoying! I use FontLab 8.4.2 Mac daily.
IF it is indeed a full-screen vs system settings behavior, then see: System Settings > Menu Bar and change “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” to “Never.” (This setting used to be in System Settings > Desktop & Dock.)
This of course would raise the question of why FontLab is ending up in full-screen mode when other apps are not, but I hope it might be a solution for the moment?

@tphinney@typo.social @TiroTypeworks@typo.social @kentlew@typo.social Unfortunately, that’s the problem. It's on “Never”. Since it's not a feature, could FL just have issues with new MacBooks (2023, Tahoe)?
