Last time in the office this week. The office VP masterminded a happy hour at the dive bar we used to frequent in our younger days, and convinced a ton of former coworkers to join us old-timers there. It was a very strange experience to hang out with so many people I'd not seen in 10+ or even 15+ years. Everybody looked just a little bit older, and the sad reality is that some who would undoubtedly have been there are no longer with us. I left feeling grateful for being able to spend the time with everyone, but sad that it was almost certainly the last time that crowd would be in the same place at the same time.
