I've been actively looking for a new career direction where I can best put my skills and experience to use. The growing onset of LLM and generative AI products being forced into the process of designing and building web products has deteriorated my joy of making things in this space.

@fasterandworse@hci.social i know the feeling. I would call myself a free software engineer (gitlab-emulator, CUnit, junit2html) and a occasional artist. But my motivation to continue contributing to the benevolent web is at an all time low where Im fairly sure my open source projects are already ingested into big tech LLMs and helping them make big money and steal more stuff. I feel like nothing i can publish digitally now can ever not help the big player theft bots
