  @anne_twain@theblower.au Interesting that your reading of the article was quite different than mine. I was surprised it was so blatant in how it nailed the bald ambition of the ultra rich in attempting to control “fashion” so completely. And it named and shamed those who assisted them. TL;DR is my very long assessment. Calling out Lauren Sanchez-Bezos as crude and no class, “never to be elegant” looks to me like the author and editor may be out of their jobs soon. So interesting to me was the roster of aspirants to the ultra rich whims. The gowns and couture was not by most of the usual celebrities perhaps they were not invited. Those on the runway were “has beens”, gossip mavens (Jenners x 4) pretenders and young, barely-known actors/performers. Tech powerhouses were there too: today’s version of IBM and Volkswagen corporate sponsors of fascism. People known for their sense of style were not present. People known to support Democrats or worse (antifa) were not there. I was disappointed the Williams sisters were happy to be featured as well as Beyoncé. Yet I knew they have great portfolios of marketing and branding profits, so of course their presence. I’ve never seen such a majority of garish clothes in a Met Gala. The old school of fashion houses have gone ridiculously fawning over the ultra rich and there were only a few “young guns” of fashion designers. Says a lot about the fashion industry at this time. It reads just like the major fashion houses did for for Reich, Royalty and Major Industrialist circles during WW2. Since I realize I’m looking at an annual event only important to a small section of society, and I’ve likely reviewed from afar the published photos and commentary for the famous runway annual shows for over 60 years now, I may see things in it most younger people will not notice. Thus, I shared it here. Hmmmm, why would an antifa far left progressive notice and follow things like this? Yes, fashion and money and power are displayed very openly and changes in style and players are important to be aware of. Historians will have plenty to say in the future. Sadly it looks to be a future at least a decade from now when these players now are ignored. Ten more years of gauche, crude, ostentatious, and classless.
