Keisler uses Abraham Robinson's hyperreals, a proper subfield of the surreals, that rigorously model 17th century thinking about infinitesimals. A great book either way, of course!

@AdrianRiskin@kolektiva.social @atoponce@fosstodon.org — I still to this day recommend Silvanus Thompson's _Calculus Made Easy_ for people who need to learn how to use calculus; then, once they see its utility, I push them to Keisler for rigorous coverage.
