a thing that I would be really into is a hard sci-fi story that imagines what alien textile-making might be like in the same level of exquisite detail that you often get imagining computers and spaceships and guns. nothing against computers and spaceships, those are delightful. a little bit against guns, but those can be delightful to imagine too. but it just feels like such a gaping hole, especially with how entangled fabric making has been with the history of technologies on earth and with computing in particular. and there is just such incredible variation in existing structures of fabric and different ways of putting together the same structure. I would just really enjoy hearing about what that might look like for creatures with different kinds of anatomy or needs or ways of thinking or materials to work with! (I know that the standard advice if you want a story to exist that doesn't yet is that you should make it exist. writing is *so* hard though, perhaps someday)
