This Slop Economy piece by Eugene Healey is less a diagnosis than an autopsy note written while the body continues to transact.
He is right to shift the blame away from Ai cuz blaming Ai for slop is like blaming the photocopier for bad literature. It merely accelerates the reproduction of what was already unworthy of being copied. What that video sharpens effectively is the economic spine underneath my cultural argument #cultureisstuck

Where I described symptoms (recursion, stagnation, algorithmic loops), Eugene adds the pathology (consolidation, risk-aversion & the tyranny of scale). His sharpest line is "slop is the aesthetics of consolidation." Almost disappointingly sober, which makes it even more devastating. When fewer entities control more productions, culture converges more than just stagnate. Towards the safest possible median.
