@tylerknowsnothing@hear-me.social It's just sad that anyone has ever used LinkedIn for anything. Why do people keep forgetting that this business was built entirely on stealing people's address books in Windows and sending out unsolicited emails in your name to con more followers? And no, that's not ancient history, it was still occurring at least in the last ten years that I've seen from work contacts.

@Shdwdrgn@tech.lgbt Def not ancient history. AFAICR it’s still being done, though I’ve not engaged with the platform other than updating my profile once a year or so. Still wanted my contacts.

@Shdwdrgn@tech.lgbt I used LinkedIn to try to find a good friend from high school, when it was the only place I could find their name online. (It's a very common name.). I was not successful. @tylerknowsnothing@hear-me.social

@Shdwdrgn@tech.lgbt @tylerknowsnothing@hear-me.social I remember advising IT at the company I worked for that they needed to block LinkedIn and was ignored. And this in spite of the fact that the yearly IP training included company contacts as part of our protected intellectual property.
