@cassolotl@eldritch.cafe this has been rattling around in my head since I saw it this morning over breakfast...
I was def in the "AI 'art' isn't art" camp but now having read this I'm wondering if that is an extension of the arguments about "art vs craft"
which are also fundamentally probably fascist because it's about what a creative work can do for you
it's also *definitely* connected to "which type of art has value" which is *definitely* a fascist argument
and that's about as far as I've articulated

@cassolotl@eldritch.cafe but also, that seems to have come full circle in my thinking and brought me around to your point that the "AI art isn't real" argument is fundamentally a) harming artists, b) propaganda, c) fascist, and d) the wrong argument to be making but also, I disagree with using the "boil the oceans" tool to make art. so leaning on that side of the argument is gonna be my go-to even more than it already was. thank you for occupying my brainmeats on this drizzly, dreich day :blobcatEvening:
