when the government says 'encryption is a tool used by criminals" or .. that "vpns are a tool for crime" please remember that 'crime' and 'criminals' is whoever the fuck the government says it is, and nothing else; its just a label that they apply to you to de-person you and to excuse treating you as poorly, disregarding your supposed 'rights' and any resemblance of proper treatment, that y'all just seem to go along with it for some reason if they say encryption illegal congrats now using encryption is 'criminal' the issue is being 'criminal' means fucking nothing; and also isn't actually a problem, laws and state governments and the power structures and the systemic violence that comes with their 'enforcement' is--
