Well fediverse and ActivityPub protocol do basically already that in a sense. We just need more users to migrate from the old Internet to these services build on top of the tech which cannot be controlled by the mega corporations. Old Internet is basically three companies in a trench coat.

Sounds incredibly naïve. When you host your fediverse instance, you can be made liable to do all that bullshit by the state. The location of your server can be tracked if you don’t comply. There is i2p but it would be really better for everyone if we just remove the laws that destroy privacy instead of crafting workarounds.
