@kentpitman@climatejustice.social I remember that chart from the directory on the DEC-20 at UChicago, where I first learned EMACS. I found (MIT) TECO so fascinating that I created my own variant with the TWENEX and TMACS/TMUCS libraries built in rather than loaded by the top level. You and RMS declared me the “official”maintainer when I published a Y2K fix for the KMPTIME library in 1999! ;-)

  • @alderson@mastodon.sdf.org Ha. i recall that conversation about the Y2K bug, but I don't have easy access to old email and had forgotten who it was with. Thanks for telling that story. :) It's funny that from time to time I still get periodic messages from people asking me to help debug Lisp code I or others wrote the 1970's or 1980's. TECO inquiries are FAR more rare. Yours may be the only one in the last 2-3 decades.
