@geerlingguy@mastodon.social I did a contract in the R&D department for the owner of most of Europe's cable broadband providers. Internally, they know that just about the only genuine common use case for Gig broadband is.... basically gamers so they can download AAA games and patches really quickly. And even that is pretty niche. Marketing has to do a hell of a lot of upsell!
