Stepping Away from Streaming with the Innioasis Y1 Digital Audio Player (my article)

Getting a dedicated audio player (they’re not popularly called ‘mp3 players’ any more, now they’re ‘digital audio players’ to the serious!) was brought on by a few reasons.
I’m sick of my phone being my ‘does-everything’ device, so I’ve been systematically replacing certain functions with dedicated physical devices: a BOOX e-reader for my books, retro handhelds for gaming, and now I’m ditching streaming music for a proper offline library.
I thought I’d write about the devices I’m getting to find ‘the’ perfect audio player, this one is my first, the Innioasis Y1. It is cute, a clear throwback to the old iPod designs. It is probably best seen as a true ‘entry level’ to the audio player world, very much a first step on a ladder.
I’ve got plenty more on the way. I have ordered an old Sony MD player from Japan, I’m eyeing off refurbished/modded iPods, I had a Snowsky Echo delivered a few days back too. I’m just…finding the right device and detailing how I find them as I do. Hopefully someone here finds this interesting!
