@katrinakatrinka@infosec.exchange it may be impossible, but skilled workers are still getting mass fired over it, and my spidey sense is telling me that those jobs are going to end up permanently devalued. I'm dead certain some form of AI is going to be plaguing the culture industry for pretty much the foreseeable future, because "AI art/writing is bad" is a matter of taste and it's a great tool to break the labour power of a skilled and organized creative workforce

@katrinakatrinka@infosec.exchange also, all of those programmer jobs that are disappearing right now are 100% going to India and China at half the rate when they have to be rehired

@XauriEL@mastodon.nz They're using that excuse, but that's not the reason. They use cuts in labor to boost earnings. It really is that short-term focused.
