@alxd@writing.exchange I addressed the "lack of language" statement in the essay. It is not a lack of language we suffer from, it is platforms not giving space or weight to indigenous frameworks that already talk about everything solarpunk cares about. What is wrong with the language already available?

@foundseed@spore.social not every region of the world has indigenous cultures that offer their own land stewardship and visions of social justice. In some places, for some topics, we need a new language. Going deeper, I think it would be good to differentiate between "afrofuturism" (visions created by black Americans) and "african futurism" which more closely aligns with visions and tradition of people who live in Africa. The differences between the two can be quite stark.
