Europeans didn’t develop an affinity for “fancy” copper roofs, gutters, and downspouts just because they’re pretty and shiny.
Copper is more importantly a fungicide which largely reduces algae growth.
But those PVC and aluminum gutters sure are cheap when you refuse to factor in the larger cleaning burden. It’s not just aesthetic, algae can grow thick and clog anything.

@olivierlacan@ruby.social I wonder if only parts were lined in copper if it’s enough, or does an entire system need to be copper
