Almost 18 years ago I adopted Google Workspace (then GSuite) for my family mail domain. Today I switched the MX records over to mailbox.org instead. I had considered Proton Mail, Tutanota, and self hosting but mailbox.org won for supporting a broad range of mail and calendar clients via popular protocols for the right price. Slowly chipping away at the Big Tech dependencies in my life.
