Targets hit by it will become a distorted blackened rift mark in reality that slowly fades. As it does this, the now victim is screaming in pain as they are torn apart slowly from reality.
This rift is positioned around you relative to where you killed them. It is screaming in pain, it blocks your view. You hear the screaming at its fullest, enemies won't. But the sound enemies hear increases exponentially with the amount of rifts around you.

The screaming rifts take hours to dissipate, you don't have that time to wait them out. The rifts distort your view, what you hear from the environment. Worst, they absorb your guns' fire, so you can't just fire blindly. And even if you could, would you just be cornering yourself more?
