Drama in the #meshcore world and AI is at the center of it https://blog.meshcore.io/2026/04/23/the-split?fbclid=IwY2xjawRW8pNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA80MDk5NjI2MjMwODU2MDkAAR7MffaeMWewUwfHt3HkFQIsxw6iZn_RqDbDpD-_5Je1DxOM6_pfifTrIXe02g_aem_A-l62-00EZcK7MbMz8Wg5g

  • Andy Kirby has been a big promoter of the project on YouTube and was also heavily involved. Turns out he was starting to vibe code a lot of crap while hiding it from the rest of the team. He wasn’t much of a coder in the first place so it was beyond just using AI for code assistance You cannot vibe code something as important as a telecommunication protocol that has strong privacy requirements (That and he registered the trademark in secret) #meshcore

@jerome@jasette.facil.services what in the hell. the vibe coding is one thing, the trademark is bonkers. I accidentally ended up using a UI that seems to be depressingly vibe coded and every single revision something that previously worked stops. Two revisions ago it was *updating without a full reflash*. This time it broke bluetooth so that I have to turn it off and back on again manually at the device (or reboot) to connect after disconnect. Used to work fine! I hate that these people think they're helping.
