@Knightky@mstdn.games If you do decide to jump in, feel free to ping me with any questions! I love talking about Final Fantasy in general, and FFXIV in particular. Coming with the next expansion in January, they're going to be shifting their approach from needing daily log-ins for content to weekly achievements, to better match today's playstyles and not impede against other obligations. I can say that as a former FFXI player in its heyday, I always felt "behind" in that game, even though I was playing daily for hours. I've never once felt that way in FFXIV, and I think the new changes coming is going to make it even better for "casual" players. I play FFXIV far less than I ever did FFXI, and still feel up to date and have achieved some things my friends haven't. Yes, there is the ongoing sub I'm paying, but I think it's a reasonable amount for the sheer enjoyment I get. But I have friends who are free trial players and really love the game, too, even with the restrictions.
