@SJHoodlet@writing.exchange as a self thought in English (German by being raised in Germany). We have very small children books called Pixi Bücher, ~ fist size (10×10 cm) not a finger thick booklets of different characters. Thought to be read to kids & getting them started to read on their own. One is named Conny and made a sort of meme Revival in the last years. https://www.carlsen.de/kinderbuch/pixi They are made by Carlsen, for which I could find the English Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlsen_Verlag There are also some publications they have listed sadly they are also running Harry Potter so if you don't want to support that, do to JK Rowling using her money to ban transgender* people from the society. I can understand that, however there should be a good second hand market for the Pixi books & similar brands exist. Also I recommend watching German translated Movies, Series or original German Content etc. Germany has a long dubbing history so youer chance to find your favorite series fully translated is high.🙂

@SJHoodlet@writing.exchange and on a side note, not to be rude but because I always struggle with words in English. Your last line, danke is the correct form for thanks for many thanks it cuts the e at the end and becomes a noun "Vielen Dank." As a child we learned the rule if you can see or touch it it is written with an upper case ... Not a perfect Donkey bridge (Eselsbrūcke) but it helps for daily objects including the sun, ghosts, glass, fog etc. My personal advice for cases. Ask yourself what is it? If you can answer the what is it with a sense making answer. What is it? The Thank(fullness) - der Dank, which refers to the Name of the feeling or the act of being thankful, you probably 98% right of using the upper case. Similar if you can ask how is it - wie ist es. Your are dealing with an adjective (lower case letter) they are also called Wieworte - how(to)-words. If you doing stuff it's also almost always a lower case letter. They are called Tuworte. Hope it helps a bit in the future.🙂
