@clayote@peoplemaking.games Perhaps because your setup is broken? I conclude this because I used Emacs 29 both in X (AwesomeWM), Wayland (Hyprland) and Windows. And it always go the focus. So I'd search in your window manager / compositor setup. Maybe you have strict "focus follows mouse" active and your mouse is somewhere outside of the launched Emacs window? (And I use "window" here intentionally, Emacs misnaming this as "frame" is horrible)
