In any case, Hochdeutsch is what all germanophones speak with germanophones from other areas because even in Germany the dialects are pretty hard to understand elsewhere. It wouldn't make sense for me to know her local dialect. She may well have forgotten that I know that she's Swiss, even though we've known each other for years.
