While I agree with every word you wrote and the sentiment of it all, I have observed US hegomonic control greed from afar for 40 years or so years.
Nothing short of an uprising will stop oligarchy and fascism in my mind.
The fact that there are more weapons than people in the USA and that a significant proportion (the majority perhaps) of gun owners are right wing arseholes with inadequate education and small penises, odds are they'll win that battle.

For some reason, many of the right-wing gun people make their ownership of firearms their whole personality. The armed left doesn't really talk about it because to most of them they are just things.
