@butternut@hachyderm.io aaaaa answering this for the 4th time: yes, but disabling SIP = bad for security = don't do it on the machine where you're logged into your Apple Account, your bank, your github, etc.

@butternut@hachyderm.io (and yeah for most things, a VM with SIP disabled inside of your daily mac with SIP enabled, is perfectly fine. depends what you need to do)

@fasterthanlime@hachyderm.io ahh sorry, ‘tis the curse of mastodon! The combination of my server & client didn’t show anybody else asking about that. It makes sense, though I think you still have to enter an admin password before anything truly dangerous can run, even with SIP off. I have had it off on my main Mac for development purposes in the past, knowing that some security mitigations are reduced, and haven’t had qualms about it.
