@xyzw@mastodon.gamedev.place 1. We designed this board and bought the core components for this idea back in 2024, prior to the release of the newer chips. We were sitting on it until market demand and FOSS software quality were high enough for release 2. Our board fits into much smaller spaces and the listed boards are MUCH larger than the BYOMesh 3. When bought in quantities of 3 or more the BYOMesh is $38 only $3 more than the others. 4. No AI was used in the design. Want to support Black hackers? Buy from us.

@xyzw@mastodon.gamedev.place Further to the point on the AI question, the board is actually based on a design from PRIOR to ChatGPT (or other generally available consumer LLMs). We in fact didn't even know about AI at the time we first thought about building this. Our initial product description for this idea dates back to I believe 2019 when I first mentioned this to my hardware partners.

@nullagent@partyon.xyz that makes no sense at all. > 1. We designed this board and bought the core components for this idea back in 2024, prior to the release of the newer chips. Ok, but what does it change? Dual-band LR1121 has been around since 2023 and there are better boards on the market already. > fits into much smaller spaces Not seeing size specs anywhere. Visually does not look smaller compared to seed xiao (~$10) or this LR1121 board: https://muzi.works/products/module-elecrow-nrflr1121
