@mikejs@mastodon.social @ysbreker@idlethumbs.social As a nordic country resident I can tell you that while it is unpleasant, up here it is totally normal to wake up when it is still dark. I am not saying when at what time it should be light or dark, people are skilled in that sense they can find what works them. I just do not see anyone benefiting change of clock related to when sun gets up or down. Workdays and schools tend to follow the clock, not the sun.

    @rpsu@mas.to @ysbreker@idlethumbs.social Getting up in the dark messes me up for the rest of the day (always has done; I think always will). And, I'd have to put up with it for maybe 6 weeks straight. Makes permanent DST a very unappealing prospect... For me, this is not moving the clocks for "no reason". It's for a good reason, and I'm glad we do it; it's not ideal, but the alternatives are either worse or impractical.
