and so Barzutecus came to the snake of the valley, and said: “snake of the valley, where might I find someone who might tell me where I might find my sword?” and the snake said: “speak unto the shepherd of Gilzuntermesh, and they who have experienced all things will teach unto you the location of your sword” and so Barzutecus traveled to Gilzuntermesh and he found the shepherd there. and he had the head of a dog and the legs of a doe. and the eyes of a salmon and the skin of a spider. and the fingers of a rattlesnake and the tongue of an ox. and the toes of a serval and the ears of a bear. and the teeth of a mongoose and the stomach of a ripe cantelope. and the kneecaps of a wildebeest and the eyelids of a prairie dog and Barzutecus said “o shepherd of Gilzuntermesh, where may I find my sword?” and the shepherd said “o Barzutecus. there is no rival who can raise a sword against you. you have made a long journey to travel here. you may find your sword in the under-havels of the outer realm” and Barzutecus sneezed on the shepherd, and the shepherd fell into an eternal sleep and Barzutecus returned to the snake of the valley, and said: “snake of the valley, where might I find someone who might tell me where I might find my sword?” and the snake said: “speak unto the king of Krazagasagt, and they who are more beast than man will teach unto you the location of your sword” and so Brazutecus traveled to Krazagasagt to speak to the king of the monkey-men. and the barbarian beastmen welcomed him in their savage language, and fed him a stew of beasts, and he wished to bathe in their impure blood and the king of the monkey-men spoke, and said “o Barzutecus. there is no rival who can raise a sword against you. you have made a long journey to travel here. you may find your sword in the under-havels of the outer realm” and Barzutecus sneezed on the king, and the king fell into an eternal sleep and Barzutecus returned to the snake of the valley, and said: “snake of the valley, where might I find someone who might tell me where I might find my sword?” and the snake said: “speak unto the head chamberman of Hagagakananagakakangaaga, and he who has chambered many a man shall teach unto you the location of your sword” and so Brazutecus traveled to Hagagakananagakakangaaga to speak to the chambering man. and the chambering man welcomed him to the chamber and the chamberman spoke, and the chamberman said “o Barzutecus. there is no rival who can raise a sword against you. you have made a long journey to travel here. you may find your sword in the under-havels of the outer realm” and Barzutecus sneezed on the chamberman, and the chamberman fell into an eternal sleep in his chamber of men and so Brazutecus returned to the snake of the valley, and Brazutecus decapitated the snake and wore its skin, and that is why the snake is called the snake
