@erici I've been the subject of at least one rather careless defederation incident. Irritating, but that's life. I agree that the larger instances are probably too large. If ever I'm called upon to recommend an instance for somebody, I'll probably recommend finding one outside the two-three largest. I'd call the current situation liveable, if ever a large enough number of people believe they are blocked or defederated unreasonably, the fediverse might fracture. 1/2

@erici In a way, *humanity* is fracturing, so there is no technological solution to this problem. We all just have to do our bit, as best we see how. The solution will probably not be found in the fediverse, but in schools, universities, political parties and NGOs. The fediverse will only ever be, at best, a supporting structure.
