Douglas C-47B NZ3551 at Air Force Museum of NZ, Wigram. NZ3551 was part of the last batch of Dakotas delivered in 1945 flying frequent supply flights to Japan In support of New Zealand occupation forces there. Later allocated to No. 42 Squadron it was converted into a full VIP fit as the flagship of the Royal Flight for the Queen's Royal Tour in 1953. In this role it carried members of royalty, governors-general, prime ministers and ministers of the Crown, as well as many foreign dignitaries, on flights around NZ. #AvGeek #Aviation
