The status of the web in 2026 from my tiny little corner… I have a small web site. It is mainly for family, a local motorcycle group, and the home page of an app I maintain that has active users. I’d realistically expect to get maybe 100-200 hits a day, sometimes less, probably more after an app update. What do I actually see? ⁃ 10K to 15K daily hits from known bots ⁃ 2k to 3K initial page hits — guess: mostly unknown bots The pages that are hit enough times to make my "top twenty" of the day total to the expected 100-200 hits. Then there are the thousands of http: and other requests that result in redirects. I am old enough to remember the days before ai and SEO when most hits were actually looking for something on the site. No way the machines I ran in those days could handle todays load. #web #IndieWeb
