@Cheeseness@mastodon.social Certainly not an isolated occurrence. I, too, experienced what you describe during my schooling years. "Private" schools were not immune, possibly even worse - was less prevalent in post-secondary for me, but I don't know what's typical. Since the bad stuff was during strongly formative years, it carried forward - still some shadows, mostly bad memories overriding the good. Hard not to wonder if "normal" is a smokescreen, just because it's uncomfortable to talk about it.
