(Source: Didn't know about the Fuel Rats. >,,> Well, we'd heard of them, but didn't know that they were a player group we needed to visit their website and call, so I just went "hello? anybody out there?" in local chat as the timer ran out...) After you die, you just pay a flat 5% of the value of your ship (ship itself + all modules). (You also lose any exploration data you were carrying and hadn't sold yet.)
