More to my point, how is bricking $1000-5000 consumer gear ethical? It feels more like a good way to get jail time.

@cascheranno@hachyderm.io @tyzbit@toot.now @iagox86@infosec.exchange It's unique because there is no irreparable harm done by bricking robo-lawnmowers and lots of reduction in lethal risk to real people. People who do this kind of thing don't exactly sign their names to it. But if someone did get caught, I bet they'd have a really interesting jury trial justifying what they did, and have a good chance of getting off.
