Yep. That's why the rw hated it.
They much preferred the subsidies where people with big trucks and gigantic homes to heat benefited the most.
It's carefully crafted to look like little people subsidies but they are anything but. The right wing trots out the single mom raising 3 kids needing a break on fuel but she, living in a tiny apartment and depending on transit, would benefit so much more from just a cheque that would never give.

It's a little bit different in my country previous govts have tried to remove but it almost always results in people being unhappy. And we are taking about the poorer folks. They don't understand the ramifications and they are used to being spoon fed. @chu@climatejustice.social @EllenInEdmonton@yeg.bike
